About my week 5 reflections.

  • Reflect on-action – What critical incidents led you to enroll on the course?

It's a long story, I applied and got an offer from UAL for an MA Games design when I was in Taiwan.
After that, I moved to London to improve my English skills. But I also started researching if there is any better option in the UK. Eventually, I found the Games Academy at Falmouth University and the students' project impressed me very much, therefore I applied for the course.

  • Reflect in-action – What critical incidents, if any, are you experiencing?

I was working on my friend's indie game project and as the game is now in its final stages, I suddenly have a lot of support work to do this has affected my studies a bit, so now I am trying to strike a balance between these.

  • Reflect for-action – How are the first two points shaping your outlook for the future?

I have two main subjects to try out, so I hope to complete my research in the school during the school program.

The first is how to achieve an RPG VR gaming experience within the constraints of current VR devices.
Second is I hope to explore the positive effects that games could bring to players beyond entertainment, such as the possibility of psychotherapy or the exploration of "Society issues" such as Homeless, bullying, PTSD, etc.

The second one is more difficult for me because I will need the help of a professional or a student of that subject.
